About Me.
Hi, i'm Chris.
For over 25 years, I’ve been doing what I love most:
turning ideas into stories for the screen.
Like every writer, I started with a blank page, a head full of ideas and absolutely no roadmap for how any of this stuff worked. Over the years, I’ve experienced the highs of seeing my scripts become films and television productions, the setbacks that every writer faces and the countless rewrites, meetings, pitches and moments of self-doubt that come with pursuing a career in this industry.
Those experiences have shaped not only the writer I am today,
but the consultant I’ve become.
My Experience.
I’ve had the privilege of developing various projects that have attracted recognised actors, directors and producers, secured investment and reached audiences through cinemas, television and major streaming platforms including Amazon Prime and Netflix. Along the way, I’ve worked with some incredibly talented people, including BAFTA-winning director David Blair, BAFTA-winning actress Chanel Cresswell and Emmy Award winner Stephen Graham. Alongside six feature films, I’ve also written for Channel 4’s Hollyoaks and GQ Magazine, delivered masterclasses to film students, mentored emerging writers and created Shout To The Top Films, a northern-based production company.
But credentials only tell part of the story.
I know first-hand how vulnerable it feels to share an idea that’s lived inside your head for months or even years. I know what it’s like to wonder whether it’s good enough, whether anyone will understand it, or whether you’re simply wasting your time.
That’s why I’ve built Script to Screen around something I believe every writer deserves:
honest, professional guidance and encouragement in a supportive, judgement-free environment.
